In Office Procedures

A procedure to examine samples of prostate tissue for cancer. It relies on a digital rectal exam (DRE) to detect irregularities, and ultrasound imaging to guide the biopsy. It’s recommended when a patient has an abnormal prostate exam or elevated PSA blood level. The procedure is most commonly performed in the office with local anesthesia and ultrasound imaging. (Also see “Fusion Prostate Biopsy.”)

A procedure to destroy the base of a bladder tumor.

The removal or re-insertion of catheters that allow urine to drain from the bladder.

A procedure that allows a urologist to see inside the bladder and urethra, the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body.

An advanced type of prostate biopsy that more accurately targets abnormal tissue in the prostate. Fusion prostate biopsy combines magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans with ultrasound (sound waves) to “map out” the prostate and locate abnormal tissue for examination. The procedure is normally performed with sedation in an outpatient setting.

A procedure that uses a laser to destroy genital warts.

An in-office procedure that uses heat to destroy excess prostate tissue blocking normal urine flow. – TherMatrx Office Thermo Therapy

A procedure to treat an enlarged prostate with tiny implants to separate tissue of the prostate that block normal urine flow. We use the UroLift® System for our prostatic urethral lift procedures.

This quick and outpatient procedure can be performed with local anesthesia. Most patients are given a combination of local anesthesia and sedation.

A test that uses sound waves to see inside the prostate. It is used to detect prostate cancer, inflammation and infertility.

Tests that focus on the bladder’s ability to hold and release urine.

A new, revolutionary method for treating erectile dysfunction (ED) that targets insufficient blood flow to the penis. Wave therapy improves penile blood flow by using low-intensity shock waves to repair and strengthen damaged blood vessels, and stimulate the growth of new ones. Six to eight treatments are usually needed. It’s painless and does not require shots, injections or incisions. We use Corewave™ therapy.
